Hello! I’m Mrs. Barnes, and I serve as the principal at Stone Elementary School. With 32 years of experience in education, over the course of my career, I have taught 5th, 6th, 7th, and 8th with the majority being in my favorite subject....math. I have taught at North Cumberland and Stone Elementary. In 1999, I became a Coyote when Stone opened its doors. Since then, I have served as the assistant principal and principal here at Stone, the principal of The Phoenix Campus, and Chief Academic Officer of Cumberland County Schools.
I am dedicated to fostering a safe, supportive, and caring school community where every student can thrive academically and socially. I work closely with students, teachers, and parents to support our school's goals. Whether it's guiding staff in academics needs, helping students be successful, or just keeping our campus running smoothly,my door is always open.
When I am not at Stone Elementary, I enjoy reading, swimming, and watching the Braves.
My name is Bridgette Cox, and this is my 35th year as an educator in Crossville. I've been serving students and families at Stone Elementary for 28 of those years. I have served as a classroom teacher, school counselor, and worked for the Tennessee Dept. of Education prior to becoming Assistant Principal at Stone.
I believe each and every student can achieve academic success and build strong character through the learning experiences they have at Stone. I strive to create a joyful, secure environment where students can develop a life-long love of learning.
As I begin my fifteenth year in education and second in administration, I am eager to serve the students, families, and staff of Stone Elementary. My goals for Stone Elementary are to continue building a joyful, inclusive learning environment where every child feels safe, valued, and inspired to reach their full potential both inside and outside the classroom. I am dedicated to empowering teachers and fostering strong family and community partnerships. Outside of the school, I am a mom to two teenage boys, and I enjoy watching all UT sports and the Buffalo Bills.
